Making a Mess on Saturday morning

I started off Saturday morning with forming the Princess Mononoke mask. I figured it would take a long time to dry, so I wanted to do that first.

Sculptamold is now my favorite craft medium. No contest. Mix with water and smear onto an armature. Let dry. How easy is that?

Finally, all those years of making birthday cakes pays off!

For the fox-shape ears, I was going nuts trying to make or find the right shape armature. Then, my nearby CVS had a sale on all their summer pool toys and junk, and... boat!

Since I only paid $ 1.50 for it, I had no hesitation to pry the 2 halves apart. Thus my perfect fox-ear shape mold was created. I smushed some Sculptamold in there. Sorry for the white-on-white photo, so it's hard to see. I hope it turns out OK when it dries! 

Now the whole "dinner table" is covered with this stuff, so there's nothing to do but go make more coffee.
